State Rep. Ryan Spain filed House Joint Resolution Constitutional Amendment 19 this week to require a two-thirds majority for a quorum like Texas, instead of a simple majority as Illinois has now. “If the governor is so happy with what's taking place in Texas and, helping those legislators, I hope he would support having the same quorum requirements in the Illinois General Assembly,” Spain said.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Fat chance of that happening.
