Illinois becomes 2nd biggest sports betting market in the U.S., surpasses New Jersey – WCIA (Champaign)

The August data also shows the state has passed the $1 billion mark in gross gaming revenue from online activity since it began 29 months prior. That amount accounts for 94% of all sports bets made, meaning only 6% of sports bets are made in physical books across Illinois.

For sure. Anything goes as long as it generates revenue for our politicians and public union “servants of the people.”. In the 1970s there used to be a lot of local government concern / caution about addiction, and addictive behavior. Now it is just a few words at the end of a promotion for gambling or legal drugs. The downward spiral continues.
