Illinois bill could provide taxi, rideshare vouchers for sexual assault survivor healthcare – WAND (Decatur)

The state currently requires treatment hospitals to provide vouchers to pay for ambulance, forensic, lab, and follow-up healthcare services for survivors. This plan would allow people to use the voucher to help get transportation to and from hospitals or other treatment centers.

So someone gets raped and the answer is to give them a free ride? There has to be a better answer.

Can’t wait for this to become a free taxi service for a sudden increase of victims and the clamor for more vouchers every month. I still remember the footage of the lady so large that 3 EMT’s had to take her down her front steps every day for treatment at the hospital as the CFD was obligated to. I think it was about 86 K yearly in free rides.
