Illinois bill ‘decouples’ state, federal taxes, raising revenue and angering businesses – Capitol News IL

“This change pushes Illinois’ corporate tax structure even further out of line when you compare it to other states,” Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois President Maurice Scholten said. “And we understand that lawmakers were trying to balance a difficult budget, but relying on higher business taxes every time revenue falls short can create a vicious cycle that ultimately weakens Illinois’ tax base in the long run.”

This is an absolutely great idea. In a time when Illinois cannot attract new businesses to save its life, make it that much more unpalatable for businesses to locate in Illinois. I couldn’t have come up with a better idea. Illinois is the Lusitania sinking fast. It’s passengers are desperately seeking anyway off or out. The democrats are a pack of U-boats sitting off the Irish coast launching swarms of torpedoes at the dying vessel (I know it was only one U-Boat).
