Illinois bill would give tax credit to residents fleeing states with abortion, gender-affirming care bans – The Hill

Legislation filed by state Rep. Kelly Cassidy would create the $500 income tax credit. The benefit would be available only to taxpayers who permanently relocate to Illinois from a state with more stringent abortion laws or laws that restrict access to other “lawful health care,” including gender-affirming care, for the purposes of either providing or receiving treatment.

This stupid cis female is discriminating against my gender. Why can only persons with a uterus get this credit?

Maybe that would be an interesting business venture Uteris R Us stores all over Illinois. They could have buy one uteris get one free for a double tax credit. LOL
Also doesn’t Cassidy prefer women only yet she was instrumental in pushing the abortion agenda?

You’re not the only one to notice that some, perhaps most, of the most strident advocates of unlimited abortion are women, er, I mean persons with uteri, whose odds of ever “needing” an abortion due to a totally unplanned/unexpected pregnancy are pretty low.

It would be interesting to see the tax rates in the restrictive states compared with Illinois. My guess is $500 doesn’t move the needle.

A measly $500 tax credit doesn’t make up for thousands of dollars in extra property taxes, sales taxes, licensing fees, etc. I suspect this is not really about attracting abortion and transgender “health” providers to Illinois as much as it is a virtue (barf) signaling gesture of affirmation toward them, and a nose-thumbing gesture toward icky backward red states.

Why would a woman who lives in a state that limits access to abortions move to IL rather than just travel here for the abortion and return to her home?

Pay people to move to Illinois…I wonder if it will work?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
