Hotel Illinois. Once you check in, you can never leave. It’s a big hit for the Democrats.

“In October, Raoul replied in a 10-page letter putting down the idea of a county ballot question. The state constitution does not provide a statutory procedure for the secession of counties from the state, Raoul wrote.”

The real question is “Does the state Constitution prevent a county from leaving Illinois to join another state?”

I would be happy if where I live would succeed from Cook county. All for Chicago, nothing for the suburbs.

If the party allowed these counties to break out, the only thing that would be left of Illinois in 10 years is Chicago / Cook County and maybe a few collar counties.

Kommie Raoul knows better than to let any revenue leave the state. I’m actually surprised he took time away from his cheerleading for Harris to address the issue.

KAWME, LET THEM LEAVE THE PLANTATION, GIVE THE LITTLE EGYPTIANS MANUMISSION, AND CALL YOURSELF RAMSES. IF ANYONE IS READING THIS WHO KNOWS KWAME, TELL HIM THAT HE IS RAMSES INCARNATE, AND NOW IS HIS ONE AND ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO LET THEM BE FREE, AND KWAME CAN CALL HIMSELF THE PHARAOH.

This is an insult to Ramses I, unfortunately
Kwamese looks more the part of Nubian than Egyptian. No title of pharaoh for him

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
