Illinois Creates New Office to Combat Gun Violence – WTTW (Chicago)

The new office will be led by Chris Patterson, who has worked in grassroots organizations mitigating the effects of gun violence in neighborhoods for more than a decade. “Our goal in public safety is to have children no longer think about being shot at,” he said.

How will OFVP prevent murders such as the following?:

18-year-old charged with fatal shooting of Chinese university student in Chicago.

https://thepostmillennial.com/18-year-old-charged-fatal-shooting-chinese-student-chicago.

Notice in the article that the University of Chicago President is promoting the narrative that violence is a public health crisis.

“Following the shooting, university President Paul Alivisatos urged police and city officials to treat the city’s rising violence with the same urgency as a ‘public health crisis.’”

So will the solution be anti gun measures such as perhaps restrictive state laws against perhaps gun manufacturers?

In today’s violence news:

15 males armed with at least 2 guns and a rifle robbed the Louis Vuitton store in Oak Brook.

They were seen in a silver Lincoln MKZ, gray Dodge Charger w/ tinted windows and a red “sports car”

Last seen coming into the city on I-290 from Mannheim Rd.

We need a new office to keep track of all the other new offices that were established to address issues caused by lack of personal accountability.

Typical, sadly typical – another useless task force paid for with our tax dollars.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
