Illinois Democrats applaud as GOP-led Indiana Senate rebuffs President Trump’s push for new redistricting map – Chicago Tribune*

“Our neighbors in Indiana have stood up to Trump’s threats and political pressure, instead choosing to do what’s right for their constituents and our democracy,” Gov. JB Pritzker said in a statement on X. “Illinois will remain vigilant against his map rigging — our efforts to respond and stop his campaign are being heard.”

Once again, conservatives thinking that turning the cheek and taking the high road against the backdrop of these Marxist, will somehow set an example which will lead to a climate of cooperation. Illinois is one thing, but I’m honestly not sure anyone truly understands their vote on such matters and the fight we are in today nationally. The future is fraught with major civil arrest in our failure as conservatives to fight and preserve what we know of this country. Wake the hell up people.

It’s infuriating that Pritzker is willing, and gunning, to diminish yet another swath of Illinois voters representation just to promote himself and display his power. May he follow Madigan’s path.

Terminal TDS sufferer Lucky is far too concerned with what Trump and the neighbors are up to as IL becomes the laughing stock of the nation. Between that and his doomed presidential aspirations, he would do well to step aside and let a real leader take over.

“Illinois will remain vigilant against his map rigging — our efforts to respond and stop his campaign are being heard,” says Pritzker. Unbounded hypocrisy from the guy who broke his promise to give Illinois fair maps.

Good for Indiana. Perhaps they will look at Illinois and copy our operating plan as well!

Once again spineless IN. Republicans, don’t complain when the mid terms don’t go well. The Dems would smile while doing it, and they have for decades

Again Pritzker talking out both sides of his mouth about map rigging, question Pritzker how do you live with yourself.

I don’t care which party does it, I believe jerrymandering is unethical. I get that sometimes a particular minority may not end up having representation. However that should not be solved by intentionally diminishing anyone else’s voting power. There has to be a better way.

So how do we in Illinois get our votes back? No, two opposites make a positive – canceling out Democrats the exact same way they have canceled out voters for years is the way to go.

You have to change the Illinois Constitution. The process for redistricting is set by the Illinois Constitution. It gives the Majority Party the power over setting political district maps.
