More communist clap-trap. The author fails to mention it was Russia that invaded Ukraine, not the other way around. They also fail to mention all the Russian oligarchs who are making money off this war as well. It would not surprise me if their past relatives were the ones giving a warm welcome to Polish officers and idealist in the Katyn Forest back in May of 1940.

Socialists not voting for Democrats is a good thing!

I read the article and what stood out the most to me was the “war is good for business” and Penny Pritzker’s glaring claim that “war was good for American capitalism.” All of this is so reminiscent of the Vietnam War days when similar accolades were made about that war and now, like then, war was good for certain businesses including the Pritzker family. I will add that more and more by the day Biden and the Ukraine reminds me of LBJ and the Vietnam days and, come to think of it, they are both representatives of the Democrat party.

I don’t like JB either but this is pinko nonsense. Shame on whoever decided it was worth linking to.

“Pinko” now there is a term I have not heard in years. I remember it as often as a characterization of journalists that had communist or socialist leanings. I did not get that feeling from the article but your drive by comment of “pinko” does remind me of something namely our Governor who growls out terms like “carnival barker” or “far out right wing extremist” to those whom he apparently disagrees with. Why if someone told me JB posted this it would not surprise me one bit.

World Socialist? When did Wirepoints start linking to commie propaganda?

Articles linking Ukraine to Nazis carry the whiff of Russian propaganda. It’s only a “proxy war” because Putin invaded. And claims he invaded because of Nazis is pure BS. It’s a land grab.

Interesting thing you have there naming Nazis. However my readings have indicated the issue revolves around violations of the Minsk agreements regarding NATO weapons in the Ukraine. A similar situation once happened decades ago regarding the placement of missiles in Cuba. I really don’t think Putin is that interested in Nazis because he has more important things on his mind namely…NATO weapons on his border.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
