Illinois Dems Lay Budget Woes At Trump’s Feet After Taxing Their Citizens Into Ground – Daily Caller

“We’re rushing this process like we always do. ‘Let’s hide this stuff. Let’s hide it so that the public doesn’t see it until it’s too late,’” said state Rep. John Cabello during the House debate. “Let’s blame everybody but ourselves. The Trump administration did this. The Trump administration did that. I call BS.”

The tax increases are squarely on the Democrats. Uncontrolled spending on illegals, identity politics, ridiculous public pensions in an effort to buy votes, and far left policies are responsible for these tax increases. Until there are significant spending cuts and meaningful pension reforms to make public pensions similar to private sector pensions, it’s only going to get worse.

Nope guys, not buying it. Dems at the state can talk and blame and deflect, but only a clueless moron would agree. This state is in the financial position it is, because of a spending problem, graft, union influence and patronage job problem.

The elected officials from the past 50 years are all to blame, allowing the balanced budget can to be kicked down the road, over and over again. This problem didn’t just arrive on your doorstep Springfield, this problem plagues Illinois now and has for decades.

That’s it! You found it. The solution to obesity and JB the Hutt’s insatiable desire to tax away the plebes’ largess. A weight tax. So many dollars per pound. It can also be a progressive tax, with dollars per pound escalating as the scale needle rises. Like property taxes, all Illinois residents, including illegal immigrants will have to climb onto a state-sponsored scale. The weight shown will be used to calculate a bill, due and payable immediately, or else penalties and interest will accrue. Brilliant! I got goose bumps. The Hutt will simply pay his tab from his offshore trust… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
