Numbers out Wednesday show the Flash Index dipped in July for the fourth straight month, but that the state’s economy is still growing. Illinois’ unemployment rate is also increasing, to 5.2 percent in July. In contrast, the state’s unemployment rate in July 2023 was 4.4 percent.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
