“They cannot control if they’ve been exposed, they cannot control if they have to go home and isolate. They should not have to use their sick days for this,” Deputy Republican Leader Sen. Sue Rezin said.
Great plan, ask the city of Chicago how well it worked. Have a buddy that works in one of the mechanic shops. When covid first started a lot of people were “exposed” to covid and didn’t come to work and were still getting paid. Once they figured out it was being abused they changed the policy. Expect rampant abuse.

Disagree with this – the unions are behind the tyranny – masks -quarantines – etc… Teachers , in addition to all of the holidays, breaks, summers off, institute days get quite a bit of personal time off as well. Maybe if enough teachers feel the pain – they will hold their union accountable.
Forgot to add – most of them have plenty of days accrued in their “Sick Leave Bank” – unlike the rest of the private sector workers. They should have plenty to use.

It sounds like this plan has bipartisan support. This must be what the voters want.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
