Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. If EV’s are so great, why the need for subsidies? If EV’s are so much easier and less costly with fewer parts to manufacture than an ICE vehicle, then why the need for subsidies? I’ll tell you why EV’s really need subsidies, its because they are inferior to cumbusting the fuel directly in the vehicle instead of cumbusting it in a power plant then losing 40% of the energy by converting it to electricity. Electricity is not a power source folks, it is simply an inefficient, but convenient, way to transfer energy.
IL Democrats are subsidizing electric cars that no one wants, no one can afford
How on God’s green earth are “low income” people going to afford to buy EVs?
I’m middle class and can’t afford an EV.
What a dumb statement.
I love it. “Low income” people who buy Ev’s are going to get the credit first come first served. All those low income people who are buying $40k EV’s should hurry up to get their piece of the pie.
