Illinois’ Ethically Challenged Court – American Greatness

"The gun ban law is just one of many in the last two years where one-party control of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches has emboldened Democrats to make laws that are not constitutionally sound.... These laws are a different type of lawlessness and far more harmful than street crime. When state legislatures and local officials can strip people of their rights and force them to go through expensive and lengthy lawsuits to get those rights back, then freedom is at risk for everyone."

Rochford wrote the decision in IL Supreme court ruling. O’Brien dissented. So had they both recused, the outcome would have been the same. And contrary to Rep Caulkins belief, the Act does not (yet) ban posession. It bans sale/transfer to Illinois residents.

One would hope he, as an ostentatious plaintiff’s lawyer, would get at least this right.
There are better cases being argued.

So you’re saying you don’t believe the outcome was already decided? It would have been 4-3 in favor of Caulkins if Rochford hadn’t already decided how to rule beforehand.

Imagine if a conservative judge hosted a fundraiser at conservative Moms for Liberty instead of progressive Moms Demand Action! Oh how it would be if the situation were reserved.
