Illinois gas taxes to increase again next week – Center Square

FILE - Gas pump gas taxThe website GasBuddy shows that Illinois has the sixth-highest average gas prices and the highest in the Midwest by far. And on July 1st, the tax will increase about a half-cent per gallon, depending on the blend.

Arrive full, leave empty. Repeat until the dark side of the moon is smoother than IL roads.

I was returning home from a trip to Wausau last week. My car was running on fumes as I pulled into the Mobil super station in Genoa City. You can see the Illinois border and Richmond from there. There were nine cars filling up at the pumps at 2.99 a gallon. Only one car with Wisconsin plates was there. The other eight of those cars had Illinois plates. What the one man mass gathering billionaire guv doesn’t realize is that Illinois residents are not stupid and won’t pay those exorbitant taxes if they can avoid it.

Exactly my brother just came back from cable Wisconsin lake Owen area 2.65 a gallon
