Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker goes to DC to meet with President Biden, other governors after debate – ABC7 (Chicago)

Pritzker was one of 24 Democratic governors, plus the mayor of Washington D.C., who attended the meeting, and one of 12 to attend in person. Following the meeting, the Democratic governors said they are standing behind the president.

This string of comments are just a representation of the division in this country. The media has brain washed and conditioned many into thinking that “orange man bad”. I prefer to look at the policies and results for me with either one of these marionettes. Biden and his administration have damaged the economy, the boarder, our safety and increased debt to a point that we cannot and should not continue. Trump may have hurt your feelings, but his policies had a gallon of gas at $1.80, people could afford to eat, The boarder was closed and managed properly and we… Read more »

They have him a chance to retire gracefully. He and his family refused. Now the hammer will come down.

Biden will be out of the race soon, I would say with high confidence. Kamala appears to be the leading replacement. Who will be her running mate? I say Pritzker would have as good a chance as anybody. For the far left, that would be a dream team.

Gov. Pritzker’s biggest achievements have thus far been to completely alienate taxpayers, law-abiding citizens, law enforcement, homeowners, educators, and right-thinking people in general.

Perhaps the liberals in D.C. think that Gov. Pritzker will prove valuable in courting the vote of various transgender “people,” communists, anarchists, union members, and whatever else passes for a modern leftist Illinois voter. What those progressives don’t realize is that none of those groups have a role to play in any decent country.

There are a LOT of parasites in our society – and they are not all public employee unions and welfare queens and illegal aliens. With Biden being replaced, the biggest worry in and around D.C. amongst the big government permanent parasite class is finding a new ‘host’ to cling to.

I make no distinction between a member of a public union and that of an industrial or trade union. Both run counter to a good economy, and both only encourage mediocrity among their ranks.

A well-run country would outlaw all unions.

This is completely insane. The Biden administration has been covering up his dementia for years (Even though it’s been out in the open and reported by conservative media) and no one really knows for sure who is running the government. Biden shouldn’t even be in power right now given, by his own admissions, he doesn’t want to work past 8pm EST anymore. Yet, 24 Democrat Govs meet with him, and he reads off a teleprompter and mumbles through the speech, and the corrupt Democrats are like “yeah, i’m cool with this”. Meanwhile the media, donors, voters, everyone else except for… Read more »

Yes, its bad! But, Trump is at least as bad and morally much worse. That notwithstanding both are too old for us to have a four-year level of confidence in them! Can Trump put even three consecutive thoughts together with reasonably good sentence structure and logical consistency? He’d be hard pressed to do that. So, which is the better of two truly bad choices—the guy who mumbles and fumbles when handling rapid-fire topics but has essentially a good moral character or the guy who is a moral disaster on so many levels and listens literally to no one of better… Read more »

“Can Trump put even three consecutive thoughts together with reasonably good sentence structure and logical consistency? He’d be hard pressed to do that.” I don’t know, I watched a debate for 90 minutes. One guy was incoherent, lost his thoughts mid-sentence and was complete train wreck. The other guy was a buzz saw cutting through everything in his path. You’re just repeating Democrat talking points about Trump if you honestly believe he can’t put together three consecutive thoughts. This talking point, floating all over twitter ( and constantly pushed by the Biden campaign) is part of that carefully constructed fantasy… Read more »

Trump has psychological-warping issues more than just a smaller degree of mental diminishment, although he has that, too. Again, can we at least agree both are too old already and especially so where we ought to feel good about either having no more such diminishment for four more years? I just trust Joe more because I think his moral character for this country’s highest political office is better, he’s less materially greedy—something that became even more important after the Supreme Court’s recent decision—and he’s willing to listen to widely respected advisors.

Respectfully, if anyone still thinks Joe is capable of doing anything beyond poorly reading a teleprompter, between the hours of 11am and 4pm, they are either not very bright or happily ignoring it. You can admit that you just like the policies of the extreme left, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but Joe isn’t setting policy in any way, shape or form. He was elected as being a centrist, because the extreme policies of Bernie and Mayor Pete weren’t going to fly. People conveniently forget that the Dems engineered Joe as the 2020 candidate because he was electable, and… Read more »

Trump by comparison can’t, or won’t, read a teleprompter. His “speeches” generally are stream-of-consciousness near-incoherent ramblings. Didn’t I read that fact checkers said he gave some 30 lies in the debate last week? I’ll be a little more generous than to call them lies: that takes conscious thought and dreaming up an instantaneous “alternate reality” instead. He’s not that bright: he’s simply bravado personified on every topic. He spews whatever comes to mind, and taking the time to read or otherwise learn facts is just asking too much of him, so he spews what he spews with resounding vigor and… Read more »

If Joe gave facts, they were entirely unrelated to the question. He tried to blame Trump for the high inflation, which is disingenuous at best, and delusional at worst. I don’t like Trump, but to trust that Joe is running anything, in any way, is flat out laughable. He cannot find his way off of a stage. He cannot walk up a flight of stairs. He cannot finish a sentence. It’s all over. You will have a new candidate to cheer on soon.

Maybe so. I have to admit that watching the Biden interview by George Stephanopolous tonight seems not really much of a positive game-changer for Biden’s fans. His voice is nearly weak as it was during the prior debate. He’s not made any major gaffs, but that’s not to say I’m an expert nor that I’ve watched it with great interest as I’ve been doing other things as well. Again, I don’t think he’s done any direct and obvious additional harm to his campaign tonight, but he’s not “resurrected”‘ himself so far tonight either. He just seems to lack vigor particularly… Read more »

Biden told nearly as many lies during the debate as Trump. Not that this makes things better, but you’re still living in a fantasy world of because you hate Trump so much. You’ve also been completely oblivious to Joe’s very real scandals completely ignored by the legacy media. Nobody on your side of the aisle dares to ask how Joe, with a lifetime of public salary, managed to amass tens of millions of dollars, or why his various family members were taking in tens of millions of dollars from foreign entities in shell corporations. The Hunter Biden making $83,000 a… Read more »

Blah, blah, Blah, black sheep. I can agree to some of your story, but your guy is worse in every respect as I see him. Trump hasn’t a pleasant thought for anyone or a personality that inspires people to do the right thing for anyone but themselves. What’s worse is that he has no sense of personal morality and will sell his soul to the devil for greater wealth and personal aggrandizement. It’s a certainty his help will be for sale.. This country is doomed! Where is George Washington when we need him most?

„Moral character”? Hmmm…. He married his kids’ nanny (eww), used his position to get kickbacks from China and Ukraine, showered with his 10-yr old daughter (vomit), has committed repeated acts of blatant plagiarism, and openly violated the SCOTUS by forgiving student debt when they told him he didn’t have the authority to do so. And, his son bedded his dead brother’s widow and then got her hooked on drugs. Yes, model examples of moral character. Trump is not a good person. No one who gains as much as he has throughout his life/career, does so without being an egomaniacal narcissist,… Read more »

All I can say in rebuttal is a line from Joe Biden some months ago: “don’t compare me to the almighty; compare me to the alternative”. In terms of having a moral character Joe’s the winner as I see it. You have no personal knowledge of any situation you’ve cited re Joe himself, and your implied immorality is guesswork at best. But, oh, how we love those rumor mills for everyone but ourselves of course!

Married his kids’ nanny – fact (Jill Biden). Took kickbacks from China and Ukraine – fact. Showered with his daughter – fact (it was in her diary, which she admitted in court belonged to her). Plagiarized speeches – fact. Defied SCOTUS decision – fact. Hunter bedded Beau’s widow – fact. Got her hooked on drugs – fact. All of the above is and has been verified, and you don’t even have to dig hard to find it. I agree with Mark below. Since moral character can’t be the baseline, what are the policies of this admin that keep you on… Read more »

It’s simple; my eventual vote is against Trump rather than for Biden for reasons I’ve already given which seem stupid to you apparently. Who cares? If I can cancel one IL Trump voter I’ll have done my civic duty.

I try to listen closely to Biden and Trump supporters to understand how they think, and from what I see many put character issues first and don’t even get to policy matters if they despise a candidate’s character. James seems to be an illustration of that. I get why they despise Trump’s lack of character but I’m puzzled why they don’t see that in Biden, who is a crook and lies at least as often as Trump.

This thread of comments features someone who confidently claims his ability to see deeply into the souls of two people he has never met. He then challenges people who make judgments about what they have actually observed as wannabe doctors, or “You have no evidence.”

These are the self-anointed virtuous, who put up “No Human is Illegal” signs, but clear out illegals in their own neighborhoods within 24 hours.

They must cling to their illusions about the virtue and ability, or lack thereof, of each candidate. The credibility of their loud proclamations of their own virtue is at stake.

Are there really people out there who haven’t seen for four years that Biden was mentally impaired? Am I on a different planet for thinking that was obvious long ago? The real debate should be the national security risk of having him in office. He should be out entirely.

Biden is but a few years older than I am, so I allowed reasonable doubt for his lost looks and his stumble bumming around. But seeking advice from Gov. J B Flintstone was the last straw. The man is gone bonkers!

Hard to take any of this to seriously when the DNC Bosses are working on a replacement. Pritzker’s immediate concern as Gov is that PDJT won’t give him a thin dime of bailout $$$.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
