Illinois hotels continue to struggle hiring and retaining workers – Center Square

The Illinois General Assembly tried to address the issue by passing a hotel workforce development program in the state budget. Lawmakers also passed a bill that ties Illinois’ travel per diem for state employees to the federal rate in an effort to boost hotels.

Easy solution would be to hire the same recent migrants that have arrived in Chicago by busload. Quick source for new housekeepers, custodians, bus boys, dishwashers, valet attendants. That cheap labor resource is reason why politicians allow uncontrolled border crossings anyways, regardless of their party’s rhetoric on issue.
