Illinois House bill would force Chicago grocers, gas stations to hire armed guards – Illinois Policy

What the bill doesn’t mention is the higher costs for businesses, which get passed on to customers. Grocery stores are defined as “a business engaged in the sale of food, beverages, and other goods usually used in a home,” which appears to include the corner bodega.

Hire the gangs to provide security. Violate their turf and Blam. Hmmmm…..what’s Lori’s contribution to this proposal? None; thought so. Next she’ll propose the USPS, take over CPS, because it rolls off the tongue nicely.

Just wait until the security guard does his job and shoots some scumbag. The guard and the store are racists! Defund security!

in Chicago for security your on your own, while your paying a fortune in prop-taxes/ commercial leases and i believe 2nd highest in $/per capita for policing nationally….meanwhile, for example, a couple of weeks ago I called 311 to report graffiti on my garage door and the guy answering call is a fully sworn officer? REALLY!!! (unless you live here you have no idea how dysfunctional ALL your city services are–it’s a complete joke from cps to cpd)

The progressives are schizophrenic…!

They have been loudly beating the drum on how evil “guns” are…

Not to mention demanding police be removed from the schools because they carry evil “guns”...

NOW, they want more “guns” in businesses…???

I hate to be a pessimist & conspiracy theorist, but I can’t help suspecting their ulterior motive is to create more “shooting scenarios” to justify their real goal of firearms confiscation…

This will mean the closing of many more small businesses that cannot afford to do this. Illinois chasing away more and more businesses and people.
Look out Texas and Florida there is still more coming your way.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
