Illinois’ House GOP leader criticizes Democrats’ support of drug decriminalization – Center Square

"By decriminalizing these substances and making it a misdemeanor, similar to having an open six-pack of beer, is one of the most irresponsible votes of any legislator to do," House Minority Leader Jim Durkin said. "All while proclaiming to the people they represent that they are all for public safety."

This was not covered in the news and I had not heard of this. This goes back to my theory that no progressive law is too crazy for the Illinois Legislature. Democrats have an agreement to vote for all of each other’s progressive laws, because they have to, if they don’t, they will be ousted in a primary from someone crazy nutjob even further to the left.
