Illinois employers are currently required to provide reasonable time to nursing mothers during the work day, but that time is not required to be paid. The bill heading to Gov. JB Pritzker's desk clarifies that employee time pumping breastmilk has to be paid and that employees should not be required to use paid leave during breaks.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
