Illinois Is Government Union Heaven – Wirepoints in the Wall Street Journal*

The Wall Street Journal cited Wirepoints’ labor research in its opinion section this week.

Read the WSJ editorial: Illinois Is Government Union Heaven

Many states offer high salaries to public employees, but Illinois state workers are the second highest-paid government workers in the country when adjusted for cost of living, according to Wirepoints. The Land of Lincoln beats California, New Jersey and New York on the metric. This is one reason Illinois voters pay the second highest property tax rates. New Jersey is number one.

Illinois is DOA. Wait it is going to get worse, much worse.
All Major corporations are going to move out to a lower tax state with much less crime.
The only GREAT jobs will be government.
Those with huge pensions will move to Florida and enjoy the good life.

Governor pritzker failed our state Illinois by using his power too much for COVID-19 reusing the emergency call for over 27 times and now he is looking for re-election . He would destroy completely this state if he got re-elected again.

The most significant result of the WSJ coverage is that folks outside of Illinois have gotten an early heads up about what a hard left failure of a governor Pritzker is. Now, when JB tries to stick his nose into national affairs, he will have a much more difficult time defining himself, and this Amendment 1 attempt will be one of the few things outsiders now about him.

Local “news” broadcasts and “newspapers” – little more than the murder or car accident of the moment, high school sports ad infinitum ad nauseam, and yesterday’s weather. I learn… Read more »

Actually that one is a freebie, no sub required. I’m the one that spotted it, although I don’t search actively for IL stories. But it does reach those that need to see it-captains of industry who will not look favorably on IL. You can lay the blame for the departures and lack of new businesses squarely at the feet of the Dems and Jumbo Belly.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
