Illinois justice reform fine-tuned, but too little for Republicans – Jacksonville Journal-Courier

Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, reacts in January 2021 amid the passage of the Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today Act criminal justice reform. The bill received no Republican support, although several members of the minority party in the Senate acknowledged what they described as considerable but insufficient improvements to the underlying law. They also chafed at being left out of the negotiations.

So if they’re being left out of negotiations, what exactly are Republicans doing in Springfield?

Surely they are instead using their free time to organize a massive ballot harvesting operation to flip blue seats red, right? Just like CA and NY basically saved the House for Republicans by flipping blue seats with massive, organized ballot harvesting, right? RIGHT? RIGHHHTTTT!!!!!

Buehler, Buehler??

Illinois is also the hub of the Communist Democrat party.
Just look at the picture of the representative raising his black gloved fist! That picture should tell you all you need to know.

The fact they are wearing masks when the FOIA’d emails from Fauci admits masks don’t work says so much about them.

These people truly believe that masks worked. I’ve never met one liberal that didn’t believe masks worked. They still believe the vaccine works too despite all the evidence. I have some liberal relatives (that I’ve now since removed from my life) earlier this year that were completely clueless that 1. masks don’t work, 2. the vaccine doesn’t stop the spread of cv, 3. vaccinated still catch corona, get sick and die; 4. in some cases, vaccianted are MORE likely to catch CV in the months after a booster than unvaccinated. They had no idea, they were completely clueless as to… Read more »

“Misinformation” & “Disinformation” = Politically inconvenient facts. I’m more and more convinced that the average citizen simply doesn’t have a clue and believes all the garbage spouted by MSM. Life overwhelms them and they don’t understand why, so they do what they’ve always done: vote for Dems. Years back I spoke with a neighbor who was backing Mr. Obama before his first term. I told her I was curious about why she was voting for Mr. Obama. She responded: “we need change.” I asked what specifically needed to be changed. Crickets. She must have liked his slogan, but that was… Read more »

You are right! Democrats and their media know this, love it and keep spoon feeding the clueless with their false blather.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
