The proposed Freedom to Subscribe Directly Act would provide smartphone app companies with the legal right to do business directly with their customers, overriding current smartphone app store policies. Similar bills have been filed around the country, including in Arizona, New York, Florida and Minnesota.
The app store provides one valuable job as a gatekeeper to mostly keep the out the malware, spam and viruses. Certainly not worth 30% of all charges, and they abuse their position with the Fortnite episode and the banning of Parler because it was competition to Twitter. They shouldn’t have that much power to cancel.
