Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

Why all the secrecy? Computers can do wonders, only if they are allowed. A citizen has the right to look back and see their vote or no vote to make sure it was applied correctly. In this age of computer wonders there has to be a program out there to record the vote or no vote that the taxpayer can look back on.
What needs to be done is count the number of registered voters in every city-town-burrough and precinct and publicize them in all news outlets. Then compare the total votes cast vs registered. If there are many areas with close to 100% who voted something smells fishy (Maybe Carp). It is rare if at all to have 100% turnout in any primary.
