A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Illinois is one of the worst states to live in if you are a disabled adult. The reason is that there is no money that is needed to create programs and training. Now they want to spend money on this STUPID “community health workers” instead of spending it on the disabled population. We don’t need more red tape people, we need programs and transportation to these programs.
Time to put another box on the moving truck.
How interesting, that non- credentialed, no- risk (of professional malpractice) medical workers are deemed more worthy of dignified retirement benefits ( beginning age 55 like teachers?)
than nurses and doctors?
I believe nurses and doctors in Illinois will find this beyond despicable, when contrasted with nurses’ and doctors’:
1. Full personal responsibility for their own retirement savings.
2. Full personal responsibility ( after tax spending) for their own medical provision needs.
3. Full personal responsibility, up to their entire net worth, of predatory, malpractice litigation liability.
And, for the doctors at least since they don’t have to be bound by the strict contracts involved in wage negotiations those that are in private practice are free to gouge to their heart’s content. Earning even $200,000-$300,000 per year even with the perks you’ve mentioned isn’t nearly enough incentive to work for the government for those engaging in private practice.
Thought i was reading the dems plan, if bidens infrastructure bill is passed with $400 billion for home healthcare workers provision, than if states want to keep recieving thier fed Medicaid funding then they must accept their portion of $400 billion home healthcare funds and use it to hire workers (for Illinois SEIU /dem machine workers). Similar to states not being allowed to cut taxes if recieving fed ARP funds…. more “gun to the head” federalism. And what are the states supposed to do when the funds ($400 billion) run out??? Oh wait, I know-permanent fed funding. But nothing’s past… Read more »
“than if states want to keep recieving thier fed Medicaid funding then they must accept their portion of $400 billion home healthcare funds and use it to hire workers”
When Obamacare tried to force medicaid expansion 7 justices from SCOTUS told them no. I don’t think they can force the states but you better believe Illinois would.
Many of the ‘home health care workers’ are the children of the elderly who collect paychecks from the state to take care of their own parents. For every legitimate case there’s a scam from what I Understand.
This WSJ (unblocked) article is the best article I’ve read on Biden/dems plan to propose $400 billion home healthcare worker program in gigantic infrastructure deal that’s in reality part of a much bigger plan tied into expanding medicaid /ACA spending while at the same time insuring the new workers are all card carrying dem union SEIU employees. what a plan/ what a scam!! “Mr. Biden also wants Congress to “guarantee union and bargaining rights for public service workers.” This means states could be required to let the SEIU represent home-care workers as a condition for receiving federal home-care Medicaid funds.… Read more »
More union employees with more pension responsibilities. The Ponzi Scheme continues to grow.
