Illinois marijuana industry still falling short on social equity in dispensary ownership, data shows – ABC7 (Chicago)

State leaders touted legalization as a chance to repair the damage done to communities of color which were hit hardest by the war on drugs. But according to the state's report, in 2022, 88 percent of the state's dispensaries are white majority owned.

I landed on ABC 7 news last night just long enough to hear perpetual equity champion Cheryl Burton drone on about this issue. If they piped in the sound of her voice over the sound system in the Kremlin, Putin would end the war. An epic waste of space.
