Illinois police officers will be required to wear body cameras – ABC20 (Springfield)

One main challenge police departments will face is the cost to buy body cameras. Each camera runs about $1,000. “I do strongly support the use of body cameras, but if every law enforcement officer has to wear one, we’re going to be probably double what we’re paying now when you add in storage plus other fees,” Springfield Police Chief Kenny Winslow said.
