Foreign immigrants are smarter than some realize. They don’t want to be tax donkeys for the liberals and unions that run this state. Better ROI on your hard work in other states. I have been asked several times by immigrants from Eastern bloc countries who I have worked with why Illinois is moving quickly to the government style of the communist countries they left because of the resulting poor opportunities.
It’s a mass exodus. Even farmers are leaving for greener pastures.

Also, the assumptions used in this ‘study’ are silly – how much illiterate unskilled labor does Illinois need to ‘grow’? Is there an expected surge in sandwich shops after Pritzker’s lockdown put so many out of business?
Because word is out that Illinois totally sucks and is run by incompetent Democrats. Progressive and unfair/racist (aka equitable) laws don’t attract people. They actively repulse people. But our dear leader and his religious followers – the progressives – are on a tear right now, disrupting and destroying what is left of the smouldering remains, and happily enjoying every moment of their pitiful reign.
