11th in affordability. Maybe that’s why so many stay in Illinois even with the high taxes. It’s almost like there are multiple factors that dictate where someone wants to live and it’s not just based on red or blue.

PPF, this ranking has some very serious credibility problems. Connecticut and Mass are #1 and #2 for affordability, with New Jersey at #3? Then they start pushing Biden’s family and childcare plan? That being said, you are correct that some people stay here because there are multiple factors. As I’ve repeatedly said, IL is a great place financially for upper middle class families. Salaries are similar to the coasts, and jobs are plentiful (for now) while housing prices are half maybe even 1/3rd of other areas. There were 51 metrics used with various weighting for each. Let us know how they should have weighed each. I don’t agree with all of their assigned weights but that doesn’t mean it has credibility issues. Just means they value different things than me. I’m sure your assigned weights would be heavy on transgender issues.
