Illinois Senate approves bill to raise minimum arrest age for minors – FOX32 (Chicago)

The bill, introduced by State Sen. Robert Peters, would increase the minimum age for detaining a minor from 10 to 12 years old in Illinois. Peters said the change is aimed at reshaping the state’s approach to juvenile justice by focusing more on rehabilitation and less on punishment.

Also of note is the proposal that the age to still be considered a minor is to be raised to 25 years old. The lib egg heads have determined that a person of that age still can’t distinguish between right and wrong.
