Illinois SOS pushes back as Orland Township votes to close state’s busiest DMV – ABC7 (Chicago)

Some township leaders said the DMV has outgrown the 1100 sq. ft. site, which uses the township office building. They also cited security concerns and parking issues. "You haven't seen sad until you see an elderly man or woman using a walker to cross (the street) to get to this building because there's no parking for them here in this building in the township where they pay taxes to not only maintain the building but the parking lot they can't park in," Orland Township Trustee Frank Williams said.

Township government was established in the 1800s when 19 out of 20 citizens toiled farmland for an existence. Orland Township, an extra layer of government and taxes, should be abolished! Orland Township is a Political-Tar-Pit of government excess which most states do not have as well as 17 of Illinois’ counties.

Alexi “ the Bankrupter “ was loving the $1 year rent. Go find new digs, given IL economic climate there are plenty of empty spaces to be had. I don’t recall any such outrage when the highly efficient ( as compared to most others ) Lockport facility closed seemingly overnight. People can always go to Joliet. Bring a bag of popcorn for that circus.
