Illinois state senator defends Chicago teens’ rioting, looting: ‘It’s a mass protest’ – FOX News

State Sen. Robert Peters, who represents parts of Chicago, responded to the chaotic scene that saw hundreds of local youth smashing car windows, jumping on surrounding vehicles, and firing guns in the streets on Twitter: "...I would look at the behavior of young people as a political act and statement. It’s a mass protest against poverty and segregation. Rest in peace to my mentions."

State senator Peters called this, “a mass protest against poverty and segregation.”
What this piece of $hit fails to grasp is that no society can defeat someone determined to succeed. No amount of racism or economic bias is any barrier to perseverance.
Thousands, maybe millions have left the Chicago barrios in the last 50 years and had successful lives. Without destroying public or private property. Without selling drugs and wasting enemies. Without whining that life is unfair and stacked against them.
These were NOT protesters. These were organized, low IQ, sociopathic and destructive thugs.

Wonder if that young white woman who was attacked, subject of that “trophy video” posted on social media, voted for Johnson.

Johnson certainly doesn’t have much empathy and compassion for her situation; nope, she and the other victimized citizens were not his concern when he opined that “poverty and lack of opportunity” apparently justify violence towards fellow citizens. We’ve already been put on notice: Chicagoans, and tourists, no longer have any right to expect safe passage while traversing within City of Chicago.

Based on the maps of voting by neighborhood, she probably didn’t vote for Johnson, but it isn’t a non-zero.

Fox tracked her down and found her in the suburbs…she didn’t vote for Johnson at all!

Advise victims to file civil suits against all attackers: hate crime: assault/battery based upon gender, age and race caused incalculable pain and suffering.
City of Chicago has oceans of money to pay in civil litigation settlements annually, and attackers (or minors’ parents) may have money of their own, and ought to be held financially accountable.

Consequences for past behavior determine future behavior.

Do you really believe a jury of Brandon Johnson & Kim Foxx voters will give civil damages to a rich white lady?

Do you really believe a jury of Brandon Johnson & Kim Foxx voters will acquit any rich white lady who tried to defend herself against the mob?

Imagine, for a moment, what would happen – who would say-n-print what – if a major news outlet published a video of a gang of rioting White teens attacking and battering a terrified Black woman in her apartment doorway.

Peters is another appointed politician. He inherited Kwame’s vacated senate seat then barely won re-election even though he had all the advantages of an incumbent. Why put value on anything he says?

I know someone that works in property management in one of the office buildings on Michigan Ave. There were meetings all day about what happened. Heard a few things that probably weren’t reported on. Youths were harassing and spitting on people dining outdoors. The Starbucks was looted and when the employee tried to intervene he was beaten. One of restaurants locked their doors but a thug was already inside. They called the police to have him removed and they said if he didn’t have a gun they wouldn’t send anyone. The thug pulled his shirt up showing his gun and… Read more »

Speaks loudly to the Democrats’ grasp of reality. They must be following Chicago news reporting that simply ignores what’s really going on.

If they read Wirepoints, I doubt they’d be foolish enough to plan their convention in Chicago for a myriad of reasons, not least of which are lawlessness and the ability of law enforcement to do their jobs.

I have to say the same thinking applies to the RNC putting their convention in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee will be raided by a lot of Chicago “protestors”

I understand that. It’s a widespread problem. People fear inciting the left’s cancel mob. That’s a big part of what drives our contributions here. Our contributors often say that we write what they are unable to speak up about.

Every Johnson rally Peters is on stage w Brandon and the ctu crowd. This was pretty nutty over the top Peters from CWB piece wp posted, calling us all ‘doom scrollers’.—“But State Sen. Robert Peters (13th) fired back at Lopez: “The main thing about a certain politician tweeting obsessively about Black children on a Friday night is how lonely and sad that must be. Go see a movie. Have a nice dinner. Meet up with friends. But for the love of God stop being a weirdo every time it gets warm out here.” “Just doom scrolling about Black children and… Read more »

Senator, you are not a glutton for punishment. You are just an uneducated panderer, totally ignorant about history, how civilizations operate, and how behavior like this among young people hurts only themselves and their chances for success more than anything else. Statements like yours only serve to make them uneducable, unemployable and unable to participate in civilized society.

Old Spartan, the Senator from Chicago doesn’t care to educate, or employ, or participate in your civilized society. He doesn’t see his world as being part of your world. If fact, he just wants to burn down your world to the ground. The mobs of feral teens are nothing more than a weapon he unleashes against his perceived enemies in great society. He incredulous calls this a mass protest because he rejects everything about you and your characterization of anything, because you are his enemy. And virtually every Democrat politician tacitly or explicitly agreed. The commies run *everything* in this… Read more »

But isn’t that the goal of these politicians? “Uneducable, unemployable and unable to participate in civilized society” make easily motivated voters that are easily motivated with promises of more goodies from the taxpayers pantry’s. Sounds simple enough to me.

Like I said, this is a good ole’ boy’s club and they’re protecting their own. They’re circling the wagon around the kids because these youths are THEIR black kids, and they can do no wrong. second city bureaucrat calls it ethnic narcissism, essential where “…love for one’s own group overshadows all other important values.” although this is technically someone else’s original definition.

Platinum Goose

And how should a business owner in Chicago interpret a statement from a politician that pretty much condones this behavior. You can condone protesting but you need to condemn looting, damaging property, assaulting people and throwing bottles at the police.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
