Illinois to launch student chronic absence task force to examine ongoing impact of COVID-19 pandemic – WAND (Decatur)

The state's previous attendance commission's work ended in December 2020, but lawmakers intended to bring a task force back to better understand the ongoing impact of the pandemic.

Covid isn’t the problem. Parents have to parent. Make sure your kids go to school, do their homework. You’re not their friends you’re their mentors. And teachers start to teach and quit worrying how your 401k’s are doing. That was the job you were hired for. So do it

Let’s officially close the window of opportunity to blame current problems on Covid. There are more than enough other invalid reasons on which to blame someone’s shortcomings. Let’s skip the task force and save the IL taxpayers a little money. For those who can, get up off the ground, dust yourself off, and get that work ethic and drive in gear!
