Illinois to make standard driver’s licenses available to noncitizens regardless of immigration status – Capitol News IL

Gov. JB Pritzker Friday signed House Bill 3882, which will phase out the “Temporary Visitor Driver’s License,” or TVDL, which noncitizens currently use to drive legally in Illinois. “This legislation is a significant step in eliminating the barriers to opportunity that many undocumented immigrants face,” Pritzker said in a statement. “We’re ensuring every eligible individual can obtain a driver’s license, making our roads safer, decreasing stigma, and creating more equitable systems for all.”

With driver license comes implicit right to vote too.

Chicago democratic machine, buying votes, $10,000/new migrant/month.

I wonder what influence the insurance industry had in getting this law implemented…?

Seems to me a lot more policies will need to be written to cover these new ‘drivers’, many who will be considered ‘high risk’, thus paying excessive premiums…

Of course this also meshes perfectly with the ‘non citizen’ police officers writing ‘non citizens’ tickets…

The slippery slope of unintended consequences keeps getting slicker & slicker…

Nobody at DMV checks if driver-license applicant has auto insurance. Cost of uninsured drivers is defacto obligation of those drivers who actually purchase auto insurance. DMV’s primary goal is to register as many voters as possible, citizen or not.

Public safety, enforcement of legal liability obligations, these are not Illinois democratic politicians’ priority. Fees, taxes, and fines are collected to fund state employee payroll and pension costs. Non-citizens are registered to vote for democratic party candidates. There are no higher or greater aspirations here.

Hmm, another step to safer roads brought to you by the Democratic Party. Hopefully, one of JB’s relatives will experience the bitter fruit of his pandering.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
