Despite Illinois providing $24,562 per student in state funding for four-year public universities, second-highest in the nation and more than double the national average, in-state tuition is among the most expensive in the nation.

No study is needed to find out why; it’s because of bloat, that wonderful offspring of corruption and greed.

There, I just saved Illinois taxpayers the cost of a study; I mean, the bloated cost of a study.

First, this bill comes with more than a little skepticism that the people that allowed this cost to skyrocket are going to be the ones to figure out why the costs per student are the second highest in the COUNTRY. Pretty sure they should know by now. Second, if it involves firing tenured professors, it will never happen. They will just keep increasing tuition and wonder why enrollment keeps declining.
