Illinois top court upholds state’s assault weapons ban – Reuters

Full opinion here. The plaintiffs also argued the law violated the right to keep and bear arms under the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment. But Judge Rochford said the plaintiffs waived that argument by not raising it at the lower-court level. Separate ongoing federal lawsuits are also challenging Illinois' law.

Judge O Brien sided with the minority opinion. O’Brien received a one million dollar campaign gift from Pritzger as well so in order to undermine the popular idea that the million dollar gifts to Rochford & O’Brien had no influence O’Brien was told that the decision was going to be 4 to uphold the law and that she, O’Brien could vote with the minority opinion, 3, and avoid the criticism and cover for Pritzger by showing the million dollars didn’t affect her judgment. All planned, all figured out behind closed doors, all a scam and will be upset and reversed… Read more »

This is really a no news event because it was simply expected. Pritzker can now parade his gun thing as “gun control that worked” in his presidential run. Meanwhile gun crime flourish on the streets of Chicago and East St Louis showing that Pritzker’s plan actually didn’t work, but no doubt the media will be deathly silent on that.

The court did not even rule on 2A. Caulkins served up the perfect nothing burger.

“Here’s a million dollars supreme court judge candidate”.
“Thanks JB, is there anything I can do for you?”
“No, of course not, your judicial integrity would be questionable”.
“Now that’s funny JB”
Uproarious laughter follows.

Spot on description of the Illinois Judiciary. We live in a Tyrannical oligarchy. The bumper stickers write themselves: “It’s not Democracy. It’s Illinois.”

Oh, and by the way, we out of nowhere without any notice in the middle of the night at the end of a legislative session, redrew your supreme court district into a gerrymandered mess to give you a slight edge. But don’t worry, you can remain independent of the millions of dollars of Democrat party money that got you elected in the first place.

See, I told you the constitution is just a piece of paper. It means nothing to a progressive Judge Rochford, with her $1,000,000 campaign contribution from JB, disregards her oath to uphold the constitution, when she blames THE LAWYERS for failing to make a constitutional argument. So the entire state has to suffer through an unconstitutional law and Judge Rochford thinks that OK because some lawyer didn’t point out the obvious to her: the law violates the US Constitution. Judge Rochford is one of those apparatchiks who will find it constitutional to keep conservatives in concentration camps for ‘re-education’ because… Read more »

That hack Calukins ran it through too fast on purpose. It’s not even close to over. What do concentration camps have to do with it???

The Supreme Court of the US found multiple times that the interment of Japanese Americans, for years, in camps was perfectly lawful. The precedent has already been set for putting conservative gun owners into camps too. You’re missing the forest for the trees. The state has just made criminals out of millions of Illinois residents if they possess and/or fail to register their guns they legally purchased, and are legal in every surrounding state But in this state, it’s a prison sentence for you. And when they run out of rooms in the prisons, they’re going to put you in… Read more »

They take your guns away from you because they want to do bad things to you. That’s the history of the world, my friend.

How are we going to prevent an asteroid from destroying us if we spend too much time worrying about concentration camps?

Because a large asteroid hits earth every hundred million years or so, but millions upon millions have died in communist reeducation camps in past 100 years, from Russia, to China, to Laos, to Cambodia, and beyond. You are missing the forest for the trees. Kim Foxx and prosecutors throughout the state don’t bring gun charges against their voters. But they are instead banning your AR-15, which has been used in more than a handful of shootings in the state in the past decade. It’s important to keep in mind that Illinois sold MORE guns during the pandemic than any other… Read more »

More virtue signaling at the taxpayer expense all to polish up Pritzker’s Presidential campaign resume. this will be shot down by the Supreme court but not after JB and Kwaumie have flushed millions of dollars down the drain of progressive utopian wet dreams.

With a portion of the ‘flushed million$’ returning to their campaign coffers as ‘donations’ from their connected outside law firms they use to defend their unconstitutional edicts…

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
