Illinois’ unemployment agency has another fraud problem: Thieves ‘hijacking’ people’s payments – Chicago Tribune*

"As with the fraud involving fake claims, the administration of Gov. J.B. Pritzker is providing few details on the scope of the problem, as Pritzker gears up for a reelection battle with Republicans looking to question his record."

Nothing new. Politicians and taxing bodies have been hijacking (albeit legally) and redistributing our money to others for decades. Most of it from the value of property we own. The rest from sales and other taxes.

Maybe if the state patronage workers would have shown up for work things would have been better. But it’s obvious that the state workers didn’t work live or virtually. Where is the oversight? Where is Susan Haling, the inspector general, who allows this theft of services? She’s been on a paid vacation for 16 months. Pritzker is a thief.

I’ve said it before and I say it again, IDES employees are involved and Pritzker knows this along with a few others in Springfield, try and ride it out until after the election it’s not gonna work Pritzker, we’re is are elusive state’s attorney Raoul at.

Jb blames rauner for depleting ides workforce but astoundingly, as far as I know, jb still hasn’t ordered the ldes asfcme heros back to work or open the ides offices? Lately jbs been blaming security threats as reason he can’t reopen? This is all starting to look like a major league scandal as Illinois is become one of the few states not to release fraud data (even California, which has massive fraud problems has released its data).

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
