Illinoisans avoid nation’s 7th-highest gas prices whenever they can – Wirepoints on with Jeff Daly of WZUS Decatur Radio

Ted joined Jeff Daly to talk about Illinois’ high gas prices, the cripplingly high property taxes Illinoisans face across the state, the chance of Gov. Pritzker running for president, the dozens of zero-proficiency schools in Illinois, the lack of homes being built in this state, and more.

Sorry folks, I bailed out of Chicago back in 1983 and haven’t missed a day since. What’s happening now, I could see coming. .

I go to Costco in St. Louis. Bought gas at $2.59 in belleville Ill. Where I live its$ 3.49 a gallon. I save. $18.00 filling up my truck in St. Louis over belleville do some other shopping save on sales tax.with 2 vehicles I save over $ 900.00 a year in gas alone. Illinois is so corrupt.

How can anyone down vote these comments. Justify your negative votes

Impossible because the down voters vote “D”. They are idiots and simply refuse to accept the fact that their voting choices are disastrous to communities even with overwhelming evidence of crime, corruption, high taxes, failed schools and wasteful spending by their democrat overseers.

Go to Costco in Pleasant Prairie just past the Illinois/Wisconsin border. More than half the cars filling up have Ilinois plates.

Go to Beloit, Wi for gas and probably 90% of the vehicles there have Illinois plates. 10 gallons today, Saturday, and saved $0.55 cents a gallon, $5.50 in my pocket instead of Pritzgers

If you get a KwikTrip card you can add offers and get up to 30 cent off gas up to 30 gallons (online certain food purchases) but must be at one time. Example if you order online 8 piece chicken or tenders and a side for pickup you get 30 cent off. Different promotions can be accumulated but expire in 30 days. Got gas for $2.06 gallon with my promos a few weeks ago. I go to the Kwik trip by Beloit hospital. In Rockford gas at Mobil is $3.55.

And don’t forget, the gas tax in IL goes up again July 1.

Yep and they take our money to fund Evs yet Evs are not taxed nearly enough for the damage their excess weight does to roads. Politicians are worse at math than the school dropouts.

IL is a vicious, tax draining vampire. Waddles does a victory lap for doing away with the ridiculous grocery tax ( that only a dozen states even had ) and then sneaks up the already outrageous gas tax. And the municipalities promptly step in and enact their own grocery taxes. As my father once pointed out “ Even if you don’t drink or smoke ( he didn’t ) they make sure they get you on gas.”.

I’m going to Wisconsin to have lunch with an old friend on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to filling up. I play golf there too and fill up when there. I have bought 1gallon in Illinois to insure I have enough to get over the border to fill up. I’m from central lake county.

Same! When we were choosing a country club to join, my wife and I didn’t necessarily factor in the local gas prices…..but they are a nice bonus!

THANK YOU JIMMY G. Glad to know I’m not the only one noticing the blatant classism of this website lately.

So people shouldn’t discuss topics if it shows that they aren’t living check to check? Your comment reeks of classism more than anything this site has posted.

Man some of you guys are sensitive. Mark was discussing his investment strategy to highlight that he doesn’t believe that investing in this public offering is good for the average investor and went on to explain his investment strategy including shorting the parent company. I’m guessing he did this so people would understand WHY he is investing in this offering even though he doesn’t think it’s a good investment on its face. This type of strategy is obviously more complicated than the average trade and it also highlights why this type of offering should be offered to more sophisticated buyers… Read more »

Tom, the story is a condemnation of ripping off minorities in poor neighborhoods, and you think that’s somehow about my means or greed or something. Sheesh.

Careful Anthony. Some people on this site get very jealous and enjoy to hate on people that are successful. Enjoy your country club. You’ve earned it.

The schoolyard psychologists with their constant accusations of “you’re just jealous!” are the ones to be careful of.
