Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Well, didn’t this fellow support the BLM effort in Springfield to destroy the morale of the police in Illinois? Somewhere somebody thinks that a cop who has a bachelor’s degree in art appreciation is going to be better than a cop who doesnt. Education is fine but when the bad stuff hits the fan that degree is useless. There are lots of cops out there whose life experiences, upbringing and common sense mean a lot more than a piece of paper. If you can pass the written, oral and physical that should be enough. Like the old joke of a new Cop comes to a rancher and says he has the authority to check out anything on that ranch. The rancher had told him don’t go over there. “See this Badge”. I can go anywhere I want to.
The cop goes and comes back running.
Officer comes back running and a Santa Gertrudis Bull is chasing him.
Rancher says “show him your badge”.

The purpose of this is to funnel all new potential police officers through the public university’s system’s criminal justice academic program, kind of like how nearly all teachers in the state are funneled through the leftist dump of ISU. Not sure which school they plan on indoctrinating the students in the tenets of social justice, but I’m sure this is the plan. This will completely make over many police forces, especially Chicago, as the police families with histories of cops refuse to send their kids to leftist four year schools for reeducation.
