In Addition to CPS Teachers, Lightfoot Campaign Also Asked City Colleges Instructors to Encourage Students to Help Her Win Reelection – for Credit – WTTW (Chicago)

(WTTW News)The first email to City Colleges instructors urging them ask their students to volunteer for the Lightfoot campaign was sent Aug. 19, 2022; The second was sent Monday. The email sent in August prompted at least one instructor to file a complaint with the City Colleges’ ethics office. It is unclear whether that complaint prompted an investigation, or the status of that probe.

Nothing new here. Harold Washington did it in the 80’s when he gave social studies credit to high school seniors at at least three West Side high schools to help citizens to the polls on Election Day.
