In Illinois, You (Still) Don’t Have A Right To A Speedy Trial – Block Club Chicago

Last April, the Illinois Supreme Court suspended the state’s speedy trial statute indefinitely, and the justices have yet to announce when or how they will reinstate it. An Illinois Supreme Court spokesperson said the state supreme court will “continue to work through this issue.”
