In Sun-Times op-ed, State’s Attorney Kim Foxx says justice system ‘failed’ in Jussie Smollett case – CBS2 (Chicago)

Foxx wrote that the Smollett case was taken over by a mob that was "relentless, organized and effective" – with Dan Webb having an open budget to investigate a "nonviolent Hollywood actor." She called the prosecution "a complete disregard for the discretion that prosecutors must have to be effective and independent...Just because we do not like the outcome should not mean we bully prosecutors and circumvent the judicial process to get it changed."

Foxx and those like her are the “fail” in our Justice system.

The failure in this scenario is Ms. Foxx herself. The chutzpah of this woman is amazing.

What a short-sighted politician who has not only failed in the Smollet crime, but in prosecuting crime in Chicago. “Mutual combatants?” Give me a break!

Throwing the race card Foxx is an embarrassment to the entire so called justice system. Surprisingly she hasnt mentioned “lynching” yet……wait for it…….wait for it.

She uses the term “mob justice” as a metaphor for lynching in her opinion piece. The lynch mob came for her mostly, and then Jussie, because of her race. She was absolutely implying the word ‘lynching’ when she used ‘mob justice’.

What a ridiculous piece. Foxx is absolutely correct that the justice system is failing. But I guess she doesn’t realize that she, as one of the principal place holders in the justice system, is largely to blame. You’re absolutely right. And why doesn’t anyone care that it was St. Michelle’s inner circle that started this mess? You can be damn sure that some other political insiders would have been tarred and feathered by liberal media for much less. This was an attempt to interfere with prosecution of a hate crime, and it worked!

I watched the Smellit video after sentencing. I was smiling ear to ear. Kim Foxx should be fired.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
