Indoor Dining Banned In Chicago, Governor Cites Rising COVID Case Numbers – CBS2 (Chicago)

As for restaurants that have been putting up igloos, tents, bubbles, or other temporary structures to expand outdoor dining in the winter, Arwady said city officials have been evaluating all of the designs to make sure they have proper air ventilation, fire safety measures, and proper entries and exits. “I have every confidence that the structures that are being put up are COVID-appropriate, and generally good for use."

Calling all IL dictators at every level of “authorita…” – PROVE 1) Cases means a darn thing in terms of actual public health and 2) “transmission” between cases or non-cases is measurable or means a darn thing either.

Can’t??? Then stuff it, go away, and let the engine of working people keep Chi from fully atrophying and sinking forever into Lake MI.

This has more to do with the election being so close than anything else. Wait until the Philly riots start up here. More chaos, more mayhem, more suicides, more drug overdoses, more burning, looting, etc. Chicago will never come back from this.

Restaurants should sell marijuana brownies or BLT’s and replace the lettuce with pot and call them BPT’s and tax them like pot. Now they become essential and the governor won’t shut them down.

In DuPage County COVID has been traced back to 0.7% of the cases. Not sure what Cook County numbers are but I’m sure they are a hotspot just like the suburbs. This will definitely stop the spread of the virus.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
