Is Chicago’s Black Political Power Waning? – Chicago Magazine

"Black political power in Chicago begat Black political power for the entire nation. But the power that reached its peak with the elections of Washington, Moseley Braun and Obama is beginning to wane, as a result of the city’s declining Black population."

Millions of abortions, combined with an exedus to the suburbs, and noncompetitive black congressional seats with incumbents receiving 95%+ of the vote, has left Chicago’s black community crumbling, and latinos saw an opportunity and filled the void. Unfortunately, Chicago seems to attract the angry socialist leaning latino instead of the hard working right leaning, trump loving latino that texas and florida and the rest of the south attracts.

* credit to the author for not using the Latinks name for the latino group.

Is the Chicago Magazine article intended to be ironic? We’ve a black Lt Governor, black state majority leader, black state Attorney General, black Cook County President, black Democratic Party Chairman, black chief justice of Cook County court system, black Mayor of Chicago, black State’s Cook County District Attorney, black CTA commissioner, black Chicago Planning Dept commissioner, numerous black alderpersons, department heads, yada yada yada.

You’re right! Chicago’s problems result from it’s lack of diversity because everyone in charge has the same skin color.

The black population doesn’t have the numbers to counteract their abysmal record of leadership. They are going to lose power big time! They’ve proven that tribalism is their way. People are tired of it.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
