Is the economy growing in the Springfield area? One new report says yes – State Journal-Register (Springfield)

In the past three years, Sangamon County saw a $5,124 real GDP growth adjusted to inflation, or 1.25 index, which has continued to rise since 2020 according to a 2021 report by Bureau of Economic Analysis. Besides GDP, Sangamon saw an 11.80 percent boost in businesses established, making it the 7th highest business growth in Illinois since 2021.
