State Rep. Martin McLaughlin criticized Gov. JB Pritzker and his staff for not letting suburban officials know about the proposal before he unveiled it in his speech. The opposition to the bill isn’t partisan, McLaughlin said. “Zoning is one of the great protectors we have for investment,” he said. “Zoning is not (there) to exclude. Zoning is to protect.”
Actually exclusionary zoning is a very good thing imo. No one is saying people can’t live where they’d like. Instead, if you can afford the price of admission, welcome.
Hello, Indiana!

Coming to a neighborhood near you- shoddy Section Eight housing destined to ruin the area and subsidized by- you! Joliet recently approved a large housing tract on land owned by a company that lists the mayor as part owner. But wait, there’s more! What were supposed to be only houses too large to be subsidized by taxpayers are being replaced in part by smaller dwellings. Guess who will live in those? No prizes for correctly guessing the thing was rubber stamped without input from the surrounding community.

Local communities needs to retain control of what can be built in the neighborhoods that they live in. Pritzker just wants to put low income housing for illegals into suburbs. JB is having difficulty “controlling” suburban voters.

This is nothing more than trying to put low income housing for illegals into suburbs
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Start by putting Section 8 on Astor St. where King Pritzker lives.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
