Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
It is just pain and simple an alternate world in Chicago and in the CPS system. Just went through Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina. Covid is old news there. Nobody even talks about it anymore. Nobody wearing masks. No store or restaurants shut down . School kids playing happily with no masks at the bus stops, schools and playgrounds. Illinoisans– wake up. You are living in a Democrat fabricated sinkhole
It is though a foregone conclusion that Pfizer and Moderna will come up with a valid reason that more vaccines and boosters are needed for their bottom line. A vaccine specifically for Omicron is still in development stages even though it has come and gone for the most part. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/10/omicron-vaccine-coming-in-march-experts-warn-it-could-be-too-late.html Yet not one word in the media about building up our own immune systems. Nothing from the so called health experts. Seems like like own immune systems somehow disappeared and Covid vaccines are our only hope for survival. Also not one word on all the commercials for vaccines about possible… Read more »
We are witnessing the the effects of the most worthless, spineless, selfish and greedy generation of slugs to ever inherit the reigns of this great nation. We have a completely captured government and regulatory apparatus that has caused millions to slip into poverty through offshoring, allowed a generation to be hampered with unpayable debt before they even start life, predatory credit and insurance practices, predatory lending and rigged housing markets, widespread spying and privacy violation and now medical tyranny. Sorry for lumping an entire generation together, I know not everyone thinks and acts the same within a generation, but one… Read more »

A “vaccine” that doesn’t work required for kids who are not at risk from a group of misfits that don’t teach in order to attend “school”? Seems about right for Clown World. Expect the collar county suburban schools and Indiana to gain while Cook and Chicago continue their plunge into irrelevance.
I don’t think my local suburban school board of whimpy communists has the cajones to mandate vaccinations. If they did, they would be run out of town, and not welcome here, they would be screamed at every time they went to any social event, any grocery store, or even to pick up their dry cleaning.
That’s the reality of a life in politics. As I told you several days ago you ought to think, think some more and think yet again before doing that. Its easy to complain about decisions others make and being the one having to make such decisions can quicky turn to a life of contupinuig woe. Some will quietly and pokitely support you in the comfort of their home while those who oppose you can be truly obnoxious in all sorts of ways both public and private.
James, what I think you’re missing is that the job of the local school board is to vote on policy consistent with the voters and residents of the local community in a nonpartisan manner. However, during the Trump era, the ‘Run For Something’ campaigns attracted all these progressive weirdos unrepresentative of the community at large. They are more interested in ideology and not governance. They don’t care for budgets or personal decisions or bond issues. They ran on nonpartisan platforms of “Moms for Education!” or “Mom Scientist for School Board!” But these were all lies. They really wanted to impose… Read more »
The best example of the battleground is Louden County Virginia. The population clearly, clearly feel duped by electing the communist school board. No one shows up to support them, every voter shows up to scream at them.
The Board’s response is to disregard the voters, the protestors, and focus entirely on the woke agenda they desire enact, over the objection of the local voters, in the short period of time before they are voted out of office.
I have no axe to grind on much you’ve said. For instance, the woke agenda is something of very little interest to me. There is probably more there that I don’t care for than what I might care for if it were promoted in a softer way, perhaps. I’m not for strong political stances from either political extremes. Changes happen best in the political sense when people have a chance to acclimate slowly and react to each proposed state of it as they see fit. I’m a little to the left politically overall but far more moderate than liberal. My… Read more »
If it seems like open warfare that’s because it is. In your father’s day nobody weaponized the schools and institutions to become a gestapo like arm of a political party that restricts your movements, speech, thoughts and straps a visible symbol of party conformity to to your face. This was never about a cold virus. These boards ought to be happy the warfare is just yelling at board meetings at the moment because tens of millions of Americans are ready to escalate to the next level in order to take our liberties back.
