JB Pritzker among 3 Democratic governors raising their profiles, which could chart paths to White House: Experts – ABC News

PHOTO: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker speaks to business and political leaders during an event to officially announce Chicago as the host city for the 2024 Democratic National Convention on April 12, 2023 in Chicago."Some of Pritzker's involvement has been in his official capacity as governor. Democratic control of the Illinois Legislature since 2019 has allowed him to sign major new laws, including passing a preemptive ban on book bans, a minimum wage increase, marijuana legalization and more. But he is also going out of his way to support the national party, through securing donations in battleground elections, joining Biden's reelection advisory board and attracting the upcoming convention to Chicago."

I see the fat boy approved a 15% alcohol mix in gasoline that will make our vehicles need more maintenance, get lower gas mileage and will fit right in with his extra taxes meaning pay more and get less. Thats the perfect Democrat party leader; who could ask for more?

If Pugsley is being touted as a top Democrat contender, the party is in serious trouble

Not to mention the contrast on crime — IL Democrats pass laws the make crime legal, while DeSantis/FL GOP have made law and order their main mission

JB will be taking notes during the entire debate like he did with Bailey.

Think a lot of “Democrats” don’t put much consideration into issues. They just project their preferred self-image as “progressive” trend-master, so vote “their home-tribe” identification. Politics, whether local or national, is just another spectator sport composed of rabid fans supporting “their team”, no matter performance, or outcome. Such loyal boosterism of political “team” unfortunately doesn’t equate to responsible citizenship, or to good governance, and these people vote against their own ultimate best interest. Now the Pritzker dynasty, there’s a multigenerational family-history of “pay to play” political interference and power-mongering. Read Gus Russo’s great book “Super Mob”, featuring the Pritzker mob.… Read more »

Notice that the ABC story says nothing about the issue that probably has the most potential to sink a Pritzker candidacy in a general election — the role he and his family have played in normalizing transgenderism and sexual mutilation of minors. They have given millions (maybe billions by now) to create gender clinics at children’s hospitals and establish standards for “gender affirming healthcare”. That crap may play well with the Democrats donor base but it disgusts and enrages most normal Americans. People wonder how transgenderism became such a hot issue so suddenly– well, the Pritzkers had a lot to… Read more »

I have come to the conclusion most so called “normal Americans” neither keep up with the issues nor do they vote on election day.

I think there are two groups of people like this. The first are the demoralized groups – like conservatives in blue areas or liberals in red areas. They vote, and vote, but their guy never wins. I’ve only voted for two winning candidates in IL in the past several election cycles: my alderman who ran unopposed several years ago and some other local non-partisan politician. Everyone else with a R next to their name lost. The second group of people are those who just want to be left alone and go about their business. Things seem OK to them, and… Read more »

There’s a third category of single issue voters [abortion, climate, guns, public pensions]. Those in these categories are high-turnout, have competent leadership and good lawyers, and many politicians “owe them.” The politicians may not agree philosophically but they will cast votes where it counts. Opponents of voters in the categories range from ignorant to scatterbrained to thoughtful. The thoughtful ones try to vote for candidates who care more broadly about the public interest — candidates who are increasingly hard to find. Democracy as done here turns Darwin upside down.

What Pritzker should be made to answer about, specifically, is that childhood gender transformation and affirmation issue. Most people, and certainly me, are all for treating trans adults with dignity and equality, as does Pritzker. But nobody will ask him about those childhood treatments, which are an entirely different issue.

They call it gender affirming health care, and threaten that children will commit suicide unless they are allowed to mutilate themselves. They stop the debate right there and then call you a monster for even questioning the premise. Every major institution in America – schools, protestant churches, corporations, academia, medicine, all of them support this religious belief – that child should be sacrificed for their own insane beliefs about gender. It is the state religion and no dissent is allowed. God forbid your confused child touches the ‘gender’ tripwire, and then the entire educational and medical complex and government power… Read more »

The question that is never asked is Why are so many people identified as transgender/non binary/etc? One of the reasons is EDC’s (endocrine disrupting chemicals) https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/flame_retardants/index.cfm They are in flame retardants like mattresses/kids clothing/sofas/carpeting which over time affects the hormonal system. Most of these chemicals were not around when I was young and now they are in most everything. How to get rid of them is the hard part so in the meantime there are millions of kids and young adults trying to make sense of the hormonal imbalances in their bodies. Focus should be on ridding the body of… Read more »

I have no idea if that is the cause but something is seriously wrong. Plunging testosterone levels, too. Much of the world has been sissified.

That’s a theory but these chemicals are present all over the world and in higher concentrations in less developed parts of the world. And the globohomo stuff is mostly contained to the Anglosphere and the GAE (Globalist American Empire). China/India/Russia/Malaysia aren’t dealing with non-Binary nonsense. The real answer is that Globohomo is the GAE’s new religion. Not dissimilar to Mohammad spreading Islam and Constantine spreading Christianity throughout their respective empires. We are the US of Gay now. But unfortunately for our religion, LGBTQPedo is a death cult that sacrifices and mutilates children and encourages sodomy. Other civilizations don’t take kindly… Read more »

I agree. It was one thing when adults who had gone through extensive counseling and were absolutely certain of their intentions had sex-change operations back in the 60s and 70s. Pushing this on children and teenagers took it to a whole new level.

Along with deciding that all references to women, men, mothers and fathers have to be erased and replaced with terms like pregnant/birthing person, co-parent, etc, thereby ignoring reality for the sake of not offending a very tiny minority of pregnant/birthing women who insist they are not women.

You’re missing the forest for the trees. They aren’t doing this to avoid offending a tiny minority. They aren’t catering to a tiny minority.

They are doing this because they are imposing their insane cultish religious beliefs upon you, deplorable, whether you like it or not. They know you’re offended, and that’s just too bad.

I recently tried to comment on WSJ about this issue and the WSJ censors were particularly offended by the phrase “Child Mutilation”. A phrase that, in a nutshell, sums up the entire issue. Clearly, the censors formerly employed by Twitter and since expelled by Elon Musk, have found new leftist employment. As Mr Glennon stated above, I have no issue with adults making permanent irrecoverable bodily changes, but absolutely not anyone under age 18.

The major reason JB has prospered as a Dem in Illinois is that he has no effective opposition in the legislature, and a pitifully inept local press that doesn’t understand the issues and won’t cover JB’s shortcomings anyway. When he gets more exposure on the national stage he will get the scrutiny from opponents and conservative medial that he deserves and his national campaign won’t survive the truth getting out.

The press isn’t as much inept as they are an institution fully captured by neoliberal politics. The legacy press exists to support the Democrat Party and attack the Republican Party. Many of us, including myself at times, refuse to abandon our outdated and naive views of our institutions, instead relying on legacy to form our opinions on how things used to be. But they aren’t that way anymore. I no longer expect NBC, ABC, CBS to report ‘news’ as much as I expect the Daily Wire or Breitbart to say good things about Biden.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
