While women’s rights are important, not the most pressing problems right now. Illegal immigration, the economy, the growing federal and state deficits, crime, letting terrorists and climax’s in is more important right now. But Dems have failed on more important issues. Abortion is all they have. Wake up.
Has anyone ever heard from politicians about abstinence/virginity/using protection to avoid needing to get an abortion? Not one word that I am aware of. There has been a decades long campaign against smoking and commercials with people who have cancer/COPD/wheezing and body parts amputated due to smoking so why not the same for avoiding an abortion by controlling our impulses.
Also STD’s are running rampant but no mention. Simple Don’t smoke=lower chance of getting lung cancer. Avoid sex if possible=no pregnancy=no abortion. Not easy to do but education is necessary.
It’s impossible to preach abstinence or at least anti-promiscuity when the left’s philosophical worldview, and religion really, is centered around self-pleasure and hedonism. This of course conflicts with millennia of knowledge, and “the science” that promiscuity, LGBTQ+ lifestyles and non-monogamous same-sex relationship exponentially increases the risk for STD’s. To square this circle, and overcome the cognitive dissonance between the unhealthiness of promiscuity and/or LGBTQ+ lifestyle, they almost ignore and downplay the underlying health effects, and try to overcome the ‘stigma’ of catching an incurable, or at best, communicable, venereal disease. Two misconceptions. Dobbs did NOT ban abortions. It let individual states legislate, via the voters, their own rules. Who is JB to tell residents of GA, TX, FL what their abortion policies should be? Second, residents in IL, while most support abortion, the vast majority do NOT support those very late term abortions that Pritzker is so gung-ho over and encourages abortion as a growth industry.
Speaking as a 100% lifelong committed pro-lifer, I have to say that while I understand the focus on abortion bans and at what point they should start (heartbeat, 6 weeks, 15 weeks, etc.), there is another issue involved that I think is even more urgent: the attempts by Democrats to stigmatize and even criminalize voluntary pro-life activity and conscientious objection to abortion. This should IMO be the #1 focus and priority for pro-lifers right now. That is the very thing causing the huge divisions in the country. The progressive left liberals think their thinking is infallible and everyone should think the way they do. Those that don’t go along with their agenda are harassed, vilified, cancelled and threatened legally. I agree with most of what you’ve said here. I’d much prefer it if both parties would “tone it down a bit” in their rhetoric and political actions. In the abstract I’m all for civil rights and showing total respect for my fellow man, but a political activist I am not!
