I have no comment on the morality of any of what is going on in Illinois, but from an Economics, business development and economic development standpoint, it is gut wrenching to see what the state’s growth plans are. More gambling (sport betting and lottery), marijuana sales, and now abortion travel. What’s next? Legalized prostitution? Do you see anything from this administration regarding agriculture, manufacturing, scientific research, R&D facilities? Nothing.
I wonder how many low rent, welfare sucking, no account folks will take JBP up on his offer?
I wonder if the number of Floridians relocating to Illinois will be tracked. If so, I’m sure that my 90 year old parents who just moved back here would be counted.

We don’t take sides on the abortion issue on this site, hoping you decide based on your own principles. As an observation of the politics of this, however, JB knows this is the GOP’s Achille’s Heel. It and Trump are the Dems’ primary bases for any hope of winning both Congress and the White House, and with that, a bailout for IL and Chicago.
Sounds like JB is making the smart political play. While I don’t expect many in the GOP to soften their stance around abortion, they could at least move on from Trump and give themselves a fighting chance.
The second Conservatives soften up on abortion the Democrats run to full abortion at anytime. That is just plain disgusting. Maybe people would rather stand for their principals then die on their knees.
But I’d say the Dems are already there. Polls show, however, that the public I is not with them. Most of those who identify as pro-choice say that should be only for the first 15 weeks or so. There is far more public agreement on that than understood. 15 weeks plus some exceptions. Again, however, I am not saying that is the right decision as a moral matter, which is up to you.
Republicans in no way should ever listen to what Democrats have to say about our positions. Many Democrat positions even more unpopular than Republican’s position on abortion. The CRT, DIE, Gay stuff, all the time, is really unpopular. Transing the kids is really, really unpopular. Does that deter Democrats? No, not one bit, it just makes them push even harder. They know their positions are unpopular and they keep pushing for more anyways. Desantis just went to 6 weeks. That move alone just cost him a couple % of the vote and may have ended his chance in the WH as he now has a glaring Achilles heal. Rest assured, JB will throw hundreds of millions into a one topic attack on Desantis, just as he did here. I agree, FH. This is shaping up as a choice between a) communism and b) abortion restrictions and Trump. Voters are selecting communism, though they don’t recognize it as such. It’s extremely dangerous.
And yet, last midterms, Republicans won the popular vote, when both abortion and ‘Trump’ were supposedly on the ballot.
The abortion issue are Democrats telling Republicans what the issues are. Never listen to Democrats about anything, ever. Abortion does get Democrats pumped up a little more than usual, but as we saw from the midterms, Democrats lost the national popular vote, despite Abortion being on the ballot.
